Over a year after his death, legendary actor and artist Dennis Hopper’s compound is still for sale, offered at $6 million.
Located on Indiana Avenue in Venice, California, the five separate parcels totaling approximately 15,500 square feet of land feature a 4,800 square foot main house designed by Brian Murphy, and three two-story condominiums designed by the famous architect Frank Gehry.
“With its undulating aluminum and steel exterior, the main residence is an ode to the industrial look.
This property represents a truly rare find. It is an artist’s dream come true, with its light-filled interiors and its artistic heritage.
Close to both Abbot Kinney and Main Street, this property offers both a rich history and unlimited possibilities for a creative live and/or work space celebrating the very best of Venice.”

Wow, these pictures take me back to a meeting I had at this house with Dennis Hopper in 1989. I was given an address and a code for the door, which I think made the doorbell ring. I was so amazed at the design of this place and a little apprehensive about meeting Dennis. He was a gracious host and after business he showed me some photo albums with crazy pics like parties with Andy Warhol and David Bowie there. What an amazing home and an awesome human being!
