“Distinction is in Details” that is a favorite quote of interior decorators. We’ve discussed how to achieve a great focal point for your modern bathroom design and how to pick the perfect tub. These essential items are definitely high priority but sometimes it’s those small, seemingly trivial details that will take your bathroom from simply beautiful to spectacular.
An interesting advancement in bathroom décor has been with medicine cabinets. A medicine cabinet used to be a pretty typical purchase that not much thought had to be invested into. These days’ things have changed in a major way. A medicine cabinet has the potential to make a major design statement and add intense luxury to your bathroom.
One of the most famous luxury cabinets is the Robern Uplift. This unique, vertically opening modern design features spacious storage for every toiletry imaginable and an LCD TV. It also has interior lighting, electric outlets, a defogger and a nightlight.
Another superb development is in toilets. Believe it or not, luxury toilets have now become a major trend. French product designer Philippe Starck, perhaps one of the most famed modern designers, paired up with bathroom manufacturer Duravit to create a “toilet shower” known as the SensoWash Starck. The toilet shower is a bidet and toilet combined into one. The SensoWash has a gorgeous, ultra-thin and sleek design which discreetly conceals its bidet components. This toilet has three wash settings for optimum pleasure and the water temperature, seat warmth, volume and position can all be set to personal preference. After the bidet element is completed warm air is blown for drying. A hand size remote control makes the whole experience even more enjoyable.
A medicine cabinet and toilet are basics in a bathroom. A towel warmer is definitely not! Towel warmers are a small, added luxury which makes an enormous difference to your entire bathing experience. What can be more heavenly than stepping out of an early morning shower on a freezing winter day into the comforting embrace of a toasty warm towel? Towel warmers not only make you feel like royalty they also keep your towels from getting that awful, moldy smell they are prone to. The only problem with a towel warmer is that once you’ve tried one it becomes a necessity.
When designing and decorating your new bathroom think about those small additions which can make a huge difference.
Enjoy having your very own “at home spa”!
