American architecture firm, Kenneth E Hobgood, has designed the Paletz Moi House, in Durham, North Carolina, USA.

This two story, contemporary home, has been designed to accommodate the work-from-home lifestyle of its owners and blends interior and exterior living.

Paletz Moi Residence by Kenneth E Hobgood Architects:

“The project is located on a steeply sloping site approximately 15 minutes by car from the campus of Duke University. Both clients are professors at Duke University and both are writers. The program called for 3 bedrooms, living/dining and related spaces. Because both clients work at home it was important that the environment of the house be as open to the outdoors as possible. Both clients required both an indoor and outdoor workspace. To maximize light throughout the day the house is organized in a linear way along an East West axis. The idea was to lift the house on a concrete block base and give the feeling of being in the trees.”
