Project HA is a private home located in Leuven, Belgium .
Completed in 2015, it was designed by Blanco Architecten.
Project HA by Blanco Architecten:
“A building plot in the middle of the city, a footprint of 40m² (517ft²) and only 1 full facade to create both light and views. A huge, but very exciting challenge to design a contemporary town house that can accommodate – at first sight – a normal residential program including a garage and an elevator. Every square meter of floor and wall surface had to be maximized and used creatively.
On the first floor – above the garage and entrance – a bedroom, concealed in the narrow street. The further the day evolves, the more the living focuses itself upwards; to the light. Eventually to the view – from the urban veranda – above the rooftops of Leuven. Living to the rhythm of the day, the rhythm of daily life.
Moreover, the explicit wish of the owner to demolish her old, worn house and replace it with a contemporary home in which she can live life-long; to the rhythm of her life.
“Creative use of space. To the rhythm of life. ” The DNA of this town house.”
