When it comes to architecture and home design, some pieces are created like pure art. Of course, there’s always a primary goal in interior decor to create something visually pleasing or stimulating, but the occasional designer will take that to the next level, ensuring that things are functional and practical but also utterly beautiful in their construction. Do you need a good visual of what we mean? Then you must check out Arthouse!

Arthouse is a private home located in Kharkiv, Ukraine. If you can picture all of the funnest parts of contemporary decor, that’s what you’ll find inside. This modern building was completed in 2015 by designer Pominchuk Architects. Even upon walking by on the sidewalk, observers can see its artistic nature right away thanks to sanded wooden slats traveling across the face and up the siding in alternative horizontal and vertical patterns to make a creative design.

The emphasis on fun visuals continues as you enter the house. In each room, you’ll find accent pieces in a popping primary colour that brightens up the entire space, varying as you travel throughout the house. Yellow cheers up the kitchen, blue gives the hallway some style, and splashes of the two together with a bit of orange and red mixed in adds some character to each bedroom.

Around those colours, you’ll find light finished wood and stark white paint or surfaces, making the colours even brighter than they might appear otherwise. This scheme also helps the contemporary details of the home, like the angling centre stairs, the artistically shaped lamps, the open concept landings, and the glass walls that make the master bathroom look almost futuristic. The entire interior of the home is just as pleasing as the outside, and the balance is utterly satisfying!
