La Source – Massage Therapy Pavilion by Blouin Tardif Architecture-Environnement

Montreal-based studio Blouin Tardif Architecture-Environnement has designed this new pavilion in the Spa La Source resort built on a mountainside in the Lanaudière region, one of the seventeen administrative regions of Quebec, Canada, situated immediately to the northeast of Montreal.

“The project as a whole is integrated into nature through its siting, the use of natural materials, and the framing of the surrounding landscape through generous openings in the contemporary architectural structure.”

Magdeburg Water Bridge, the Longest Navigable Aqueduct in the World!

The Magdeburg Water Bridge is a navigable aqueduct in Germany that connects the Elbe-Havel Canal to the Mittelland Canal, crossing over the Elbe River.

Open in October 2003, this bridge is the longest navigable aqueduct in the world, with a total length of 3,012 feet.

Shanghai Houtan Park by Turenscape

Built on a brownfield of a former industrial site, Houtan Park is a regenerative living landscape on Shanghai’s Huangpu riverfront in China.

Designed by Beijing-based practice Turenscape, the park was completed in 2010 for the Shanghai World Expo to accommodate for a large number of visitors during the event’s running time and then remain as a permanent waterfront park by the huangpu river.

Found on Nasa’s website, this series of images taken from NASA’s Terra satellite shows the evolution of Palm Jumeirah and The World, two artificial archipelago projects along Dubai’s Persian Gulf coastline.

While the Palm Jumeirah project is now completed, The World project made of various small islands constructed in the rough shape of a global world map was stopped in 2008 due to the financial crisis.

Restaurant Alice in Wonderland in Tokyo by Fantastic Design Works

Based on Lewis Carroll’s classic story, Alice in Wonderland is one of the most unusual restaurants in Tokyo that combines psychedelic decorations, dramatic designs and waitresses dressed in Alice costumes.

Located in Tokyo’s Ginza shopping district, the 2,254 square-foot space is divided into themed sections that reflect scenes from the 1951 animated movie.

The restaurant was designed by Japanese studio Fantastic Design Works and is the fourth “Alice in Wonderland” restaurant opened by Japanese company Diamond Dining.

Evan Joseph is one of the premiere photographers of New York City architecture and interiors. He released in October 2010 a book called New York City at Night, where he put together a collection of both aerial and street-level photos.


This book features photographs of New York City’s most famous landmarks, such as the Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty, as well as little-known areas of Manhattan like the nightclubs of Greenwich Village.
