The main idea of this project was to create a gym in the garden of this 100-square-foot house, which is located in Walthamstow, London, United Kingdom. In spite of the restrictions that they found, due to the existent regulations in the zone, they were able to complete the construction of the space.

The project was completed by the architectural studio EASTWEST ARCHITECTURE in 2017.

Its cedar-clad exterior has a large glass corner-window allowing us to have a view of the exterior areas through it and enjoy the green garden located outside while we exercise.

Inside, the room is perfectly conditioned to complete the exercise routine. The wall of mirrors not only fulfills the necessary function of helping to correct postures in these spaces in which exercises are performed, but, at the same time, it serves to give amplitude to the room and reflects the light that enters through the skylights and the window, creating an atmosphere graced with plenty of natural light.

On the other hand, for those who wish to perform exercises in the evening hours, light fixtures are arranged along rails attached to the ceiling, and which will give artificial lighting to the whole space – as well as the motivation to complete the planned exercise routine.
