This apartment, formerly an office space, and located in the historic heart of the beautiful city of Barcelona, Spain, covers a ground area of 250 square meters and has been renovated to become the home of a young couple.

Being an open space, it enjoys an uninterrupted flow of natural light. The only visible door in the space is a double door, which indicates the threshold between private and public areas and works as a night-time energy saving tool.

The building offers a rich historical background through its multiple layers of additions, completed in different periods of time. Seeking to rebuild history, all partitions, non-structural elements, and plaster were removed, looking for the beautiful original brick.

The decoration used marks the identity of the customers and gives personality to each of the spaces.

The designed lighting system was specially made for these customers, and provides them with energy savings of up to 85%. It has lighting rugs that heat each of the spaces on the cold winter days and invites us to relax and feel comfortable in any and all rooms.

The reconstruction was carried out by the architectural firm Cometa Architects with the help of its architects Víctor González Martí & Faidra Matziaraki in the year 2014.
