By • Jan 31, 2017

If you love the idea of living in a quiet place, far away from the bustle of the city, this is the perfect house for you! It has a wonderful view to the lake, which we can enjoy sitting from the terrace or just sitting from home looking through the glass walls. Can we ask for more? This was the idea that SBM Studio had when they built this house in Kharkov Oblast, Ukraine, to create a space where the owners could enjoy the relaxing views over the lake and mountains that its privileged location offers. With a decorative style appropriate to its location, this singular home brings us the same sensation in its interior as on its exterior. A rustic air, a nature that floats in the atmosphere and transports us.

Pereira Narvaes House by SUCRA Arquitetura + Design (3)

Sometimes in our search for impressive home designs and decor we come across the perfect blend of many things. Many homes often harness one particular style in a beautiful way and run with that decor theme and aesthetic, keeping the style quite uniform throughout the house. Occasionally, however, we find a house that takes a few key features and builds them together in the same place in innovative and fantastic ways. That’s the case with a particularly unique home called Pereira Narvaes House!

Carmel Valley by Sagan Piechota Architecture (21)

When you hear that a home is nestled into a valley, what do you picture? Our minds automatically go to a green expanse filled with lovely sprawling trees, with a modest wooden house in the middle. We also envision open concept spaces that don’t just embrace a wider indoor construction, but rather incorporate the wondrous outdoors space right into your living space. Imagine how pleased we were, then, when we came across pictures of Carmel Valley!

Robert Maschke Architects Design a Little Big House in Cleveland

By • Jan 28, 2017

If we look at the exterior of this home, the first things to come to our attention are the lines of its modern style and the materials out of which it is built – black stucco concrete, metal, and glass. But it doesn’t end there. In its interior, the decoration follows the same modern inspiration as the exterior. The living room is spacious and abundantly illuminated, with white walls and wide open windows that allow natural light to permeate the rooms, giving the indoors a connection to the outdoors.  Its modern and minimalist kitchen space creates a strong contrast between rich, dark wood and white counters and chairs. The Little_BIG house is located in Cleveland, Ohio, USA, in a small Italian neighborhood, and was designed by Robert Maschke Architects in 2016.

Bachelor by M3 Architectural&Construction group (1)

When we hear the term “bachelor apartment”, our minds usually jump to a few stereotypical images. Perhaps you might picture dark colours, leather, and a super casual feel that borders on well lived in, or maybe you’re thinking of something closer to the kind of “man caves” you see in magazines and on television design shows. Well, this apartment might be called Bachelor, but we think you’ll find it a little different than your expectations!

CAS 48 House by Urban Platform (2)

In cities where historical buildings have stood for decades, it can be difficult to create a new space among the homes that already stand. Even when designers aren’t worried about matching the aesthetics and facades of the other homes on the street, they still have to consider their space carefully and, in most cases, they have to build upward! That was the case with this CAS 48 House and the final product, though wedged between two very different buildings, is simply stunning.

Garden House by Ho Khue Architects (25)

There are plenty of homes that incorporate greenery and adopt an open concept, which is great news for us since these are some of our very favourite features when it comes to home design and decor! Of course, you must be building the home in a place with a warm climate that allows for truly open concepts, but when it’s possible, it makes for an aesthetic of comfort and ease so nice that it’s almost luxurious. That’s especially true if luscious green leaves, vines, and flowers are allowed to flourish as though they’re actually part of the home. To see what we mean, you just need to take a look at the aptly named Garden House!

Hekerua Bay Residence by Archimedia (2)

If you’re going to build a gorgeous new house on a hillside featuring one of the best views you’ve ever witnessed, then it only makes sense to build it in such a way that the view can be enjoyed no matter where in the house you go. Few things are sadder to see in the world of home design, after all, than a wasted view. Lucky for the owners of Hekerua Bay Residence, most designers can’t pass up the opportunity to harness the natural beauty of the land they’re building on if and when they can!
