Creating a luxurious feeling in the bathroom is something anyone can do as long as they get the fundamentals right, and it’s not always necessary to spend a fortune to get it. One of the first elements designers will think about is colour, which is a lot to do with personal preference. Many of my favorite bathroom designs feature dark colours and are brightened up with smaller and more colourful items such as towels, cabinets and accessories.

Your bathroom should be a place of retreat, an escape from everyday worries where your stress melts away and you have the ability to rejuvenate. When decorating a modern bathroom it’s important to stay focused on your goal. While modern decor is defined by geometric shapes, an achromatic color scheme and exposed surfaces that does not translate into cold and sterile. Quite the opposite actually. Your modern bathroom should be warm and inviting, a place you look forward to beginning and ending your hectic days in.
