New Zealand-based architectural firm Parsonson Architects has created the Wairau Valley House in Rapaura, New Zealand.
Completed in 2010, this contemporary home was designed to keep a close connection with the surrounding terrain. The interior is characterised by linear concrete walls and warm Eucalyptus Saligna wood.
Aukland-based husband-and-wife Nicola and Lance Herbst of Herbst Architects have designed a beach home located just a short walk away from Kaitoke Beach on the Great Barrier Island, the fourth-largest island of New Zealand’s main chain of islands.
This bach, a New Zealand term for a back-to-basics beach house, like every house on the island, is off the grid.
