This home sits on a grass runway on the shore of Lake Harney in Florida.

The owners goal was to take what could have been an ugly facade and make it more “neighbor friendly” and appealing.

The other side of the home enters directly into the living areas.

  1. This is grotesque. You do not design something that looks one thing but is something else. I note the anxiety of the owners about having an ugly entrance to a large storage area, but that is indeed the problem that the designers have to overcome. It is about expressing the reality of what exists. The whole house should have been designed so as to embrace the storage area as an acceptable part of the whole problem and not treat it as though it is an unwanted intrusion.

  2. I guess engineers don’t need a sense of humor. Sort of like the folks that design the Edsel. I guess painting the container homes, for poor folks in depressed areas, is the same shameful type of event…..

  3. Sultony, is that what they taught you in your stay inside the box education? I am sure you color well between the lines and in some places that is admirable. But my home is not embarrassed by its storage nor do we have to meet your criteria for it to meet ours. May I propose you consider how those who live in the home enjoy it and how it meets their needs not yours.

  4. I think it’s too cool. I don’t understand why anyone would think they have the right to be so rude and say anything negative. I mean I know we all have our own opinions. But some people need to learn to keep their nasty opinions to themselves.
