Vienna-based studio Architektur Steinbacher Thierrichter has completed the Open Space Cafe-Bar project in 2006.

Situated in Murau, a small city located along the Mur river in Austria, the project consists of a traditional tavern with parts of a 13th century building that has been enlarged with a Cafe-Bar.

According to the architects, “a new hybrid technology has been used, which is characterized by the connection of the regionally significant material wood and steel.

The interplay of these two materials allows for a connection of the old building, integrated into the town wall, and the levitating Open Space Bar.”
