Mexico City-based studio A-001 Taller de Arquitectura has designed the Block House project.

This 7,000 square foot two story contemporary home is located in a gated street in Mexico City, Mexico.

Block House by A-001 Taller de Arquitectura:

“We have accepted the gravity as an imperative for too much time. There´s no reason to believe that the weight of an apple has to tie up the architecture to the floor; those things who makes us humans consist in transcend what seems natural.

Block house materializes the freedom that creation gives to the man. Amazed the black floating block, hardly suspended with a few metal tubes.

At the interior, we look around bigger spaces; fine transitions that guide us from one space to another one. The interior opens to the exterior; and make us want to get longer the walk of the living room through the air, to the garden and beyond.”
