London-based studio Staffan Tollgard Design Group has combined warm wood and modern art with orange accents to create a bold, contemporary scheme for this 3,000 square foot duplex penthouse in a period building in Kensington, a district of west and central London, England, UK.

Kensington Contemporary Penthouse by Staffan Tollgard Design Group:

“We were asked to put something modern into a period building, which is what we specialize in. Many of these grand, five-storey Victorian buildings have very high ceilings on the first and second floors but not on the upper floors so a slick and modern approach was more suitable here.

The lift takes you straight into the apartment on the 4th floor. On this floor you have a lobby, a very large living and dining area, a guest cloakroom and the kitchen and also a room that we furnished for a high end home cinema but this can also be used as a 4th bedroom or a study.

On the top floor there are three bedrooms, two dressing rooms, three bathrooms and a very nice balcony for the master bedroom with stunning views across Hyde Park.’
