This contemporary interior is a 2011 project by Norway-based firm Dis. interiørarkitekter mnil that is located in Tallinn, Estonia.

It exemplifies the Nordic style while including a few colorful elements to generate a space of unique character.

Norwegian Official Residence by Dis. interiørarkitekter:

“In addition to covering various functions of public visits the interior should present and emphasize a Nordic style.

We chose a basic color palette of different shades of gray to achieve a warm and classic expression that harmonize with the architecture in the timber house.

To support this and implement Norwegian design we used white oiled oak furniture and lighting that creates various shadows on the surrounding surfaces.

As a contrast we chose elements of colorful fabrics and rugs that also add warmth and playfulness to the interior. Some of the furniture was reused, and got new fabrics or surface treatment to fit the new look.”

  1. Well designed, utilising the space available thoughtfully, minimalist design, except for the photograph of the Royal pair, I did not find anything NORDIC about the design, forgive me for my comments, if it is rude.
