House A&J is a private residence located in Eindhoven, The Netherlands.

It was designed by by CKX architecten and has a hip and stylish interior.

House A&J by CKX architecten:

“The residence is located in a new district at the edge of the city of Eindhoven in the south of the Netherlands. Designed for a young family with two small children and a love for Dutch modernist architecture but this time with a twist. This house became one of the whites in yellow.

The house is to be experienced as a whole with playful height differences and voids.

The entrance is at the side. In the back there is a private patio like garden and at the south side the house opens with large windows to the big trees in front of the house who will provide shade in summertime.

Strict regulations from city council ranging from distances to borders, access and total amount of construction area and volume and a love for modern architecture resulted in this play with the yellow carved out cubic volumes.

The resultant form proposes a dialogue between a range of different levels and voids, using light to draw or reflect on the surfaces, proposing a changeable reading of space and volumes during the day. Designed to be lived in at all hours of the day, when light seeks out shade, and shade opens itself to the light.”
