Have you always loved the thought of living in a beach villa, but your personal tastes and styles are actually quite different than the more whimsical seaside designs you usually encounter in beach living options? Then we think you’ll take more inspiration than usual from this ultra modern home in Oostduinkerke, Belgium!
Villa CD is a residential project that was designed and built by OOA | Office O Architects in 2015. Despite looking from one side as though it’s built on top of a light, sandy dune, the home is actually supported safely by angled concrete pillars so that it looks like an awesome raised platform form the other side. The effect is a much more contemporary looking building than the little beach cottages you might be used to seeing nestled among the sand and grass in other places.
The shape of the home’s exterior helps to build that more modern aesthetic you’re aiming for as well. Instead of arches and swoop verandas, these designers kept things wonderfully minimalist, providing a lovely and sizable outdoor space that looks chic and contemporary.
Inside the house, you’ll find the same impressive monochromatic decor scheme and neat, streamlined angles. Minimalist decor has kept the main rooms spacious and clean, free for future customization, but befitting of the true definition of “modern”. Even so, the smaller details that are particularly unique to this house, like the single white chain by the outdoor staircase and the geometric cutouts in the concrete wall behind the house, scream “art” to us!
