Giles Pike Architects Remodel a Home in London, England
By Jessica • Jan 25, 2017
We adore looking at photos of beautifully built houses that are brand new and still shiny, but sometimes it’s nice to see older structures get a facelift instead! That’s why we’re always keen to include a few remodeling projects on our pages along with the fancy new homes and gorgeous structures that have just been finished for the first time.
With that in mind, we give you Sewdley St, a stunning private home that perfectly blends vintage characteristics left over from the original home with modern lines and aspects in the form of a brand new, contemporary addition. This unique structure is located in London, England and was designed by Giles Pike Architects.
The difference between this house and the neighbouring homes is apparent right from the sidewalk as you mosey down the street past the buildings. Cascade windows are swapped out for gorgeously clear picture windows that stand forward from the front of the house like miniature sun rooms, making them the perfect spot to place a cozy reading chair.
Inside, exposed brick walls and chic, industrial-style winding staircases hearken back to an older era of London, without looking outdated thanks to the way more contemporary furniture and decor schemes, like chrome and glass tables and low, modern couches, strike a balance.
