For some architects and home designers, the art of building a house is just that; an art. In fact, when a designer creates a beautiful apartment or house that they feel really encompasses the essence of a style or aesthetic, they often give the home a name that communicates that for the world to see. That’s the case with this breathtakingly unique home in Manhattan, New York City, USA!
Art Deco Minimalism is a striking residential project designed and built by Ghiora Aharoni Design Studio. Throughout its very structure, right down to the details of its interior decor design, this apartment embodies what the art deco movement and style has always been. That’s evident immediately when you walk in, as you gaze across the rooms full of rounded walls, freestanding fireplaces, and modern looking furniture that concentrates on smooth line movements rather than hard edges.
Besides the emphasis on rounded edges and shapes in the decor, perhaps the most eye catching feature in the apartment is the colour scheme. The lovely blonde wood finish on the lower half is comfortable while the metallic silver finish that extends straight up the walls and across the ceiling moves things forward into the world of modern and contemporary style. Usually when a place looks clean and shining it’s a figure of speech, but in this case, the silver literally gleams throughout the whole apartment!
