Bright Home in Montreal Remodeled by Naturehumaine

This home dates back to the 1970s, and was beautifully renovated and turned into a space full of light that transmits peace and serenity. It is located in the Quebecois city of Montreal, Canada, and its remodeling was undertaken by_naturehumaine [architecture+design in 2017. It was designed with a couple with two small children in mind.

The layout for the home was completely reorganized, so as to most appropriately cater to the needs of the new owners. A three-level atrium sits at the center of the home, allowing light to filter in and fill all levels.

The floors are clad in a stunning light-colored wood, which contrasts against the pure white of the rest of the décor.

The staircases are encased by tall black bars that go from floor to ceiling emphasizing the verticality of the home’s design. The walls here are paneled, adding a dramatic touch to the space. At the top, skylights pierce the ceiling, providing a shaft through which natural light seeps in.

The light fixtures that we see are the original stainless steel ones, though they have been repainted black, and their supports have been reconfigured.
Each space is perfectly thought out and designed to delight and satisfy its owners.
