Contemporary Meets Industrial in this Private Home in Kiev, Ukraine

This home, designed by the Ukrainian Tseh Architectural Group in 2017, encompasses a perfect blend of industrial and contemporary styles. The home is located in Kiev, Ukraine, and its high ceilings and carefully placed skylights serve to give it a generous supply of natural light, which serves to enliven the space and give it an airy quality of tranquility. The exposed brick walls, painted white, along with the black iron light fixtures and staircase railings, however, serve to give it an edgier industrial touch. The exposed wooden beams with iron brackets, the almost sculptural lamp hanging from the slanted ceiling, and the polished concrete floors serve to seal this for us.

The same light fixtures that are used in the living room, pointing upward, are used as lamps over the dining room table, now hanging downward, creating a sense of continuity combined with innovation. Lighter tones meet us in this space, which is seamlessly combined with the kitchen, with walls and dining table both done in a light-colored wood and upholstered chairs done in soft gray and yellow.

The bedroom is a haven of comfort, with an imposingly large bed in inviting tones of gray and blue, and with walls done in a pacifying white. The bathrooms are elegant and simple, with cabinets in rich wood to add a touch of warmth.
