Celeno Ivanovo and Luiz Henrique Ribeiro, partners at 2arquitetos, designed this elegant penthouse located in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. It was designed with a couple with three children in mind, which is why they chose to use a simple yet elegant décor, where the essential pieces of furniture would not be missed. With the children in mind, obstacle-free spaces were created in order to provide for their safety and comfort in this structure that they, too, will call home.
The home is characterized by a sublime balance between simplicity and elegance.
Earthen colors were employed in its décor, a perfect option for interior design which helps to achieve elegant spaces which at the same time are child-proof, as these colors fare well against scrapes and are good against dirt and dust, since they are dark and hide stains very well.
The interior uses Saint Remy limestone floor tiles in combination with woodwork, art pieces, and furniture, all designed by Brazilian artists and designers. The stunning view to Serra do Curral is the last gift this lovely home provides for us.
One of the most memorable pieces in the home is a marquetry dining table in the dining area, made by one of the owners’ grandfather, a very talented 94-year old blind craftsman.
