This fabulous and ingenious residence was created especially for a young man whose interests and hobbies include skating, surfing and enjoying time with close friends and family. Thus, the InHouse team designed a space in which he could carry out his activities while sharing a modern and functional space at the same time.
The project was led by creative director Aidan Hart, and senior designer Jenine Bruce, who chose a modern industrial aesthetic for this youthful interior. It is located in Cape Town, in South Africa.
Polished concrete flooring spans the whole room in which a concrete skateboard bowl plays an important role in the design.
This impressive structure was no easy task. During a six-week process, a revised plan was put into place. Although the process took longer than originally planned, the end result is a functional skateboard bowl that will surely keep the teenager and his friends entertained for countless hours!
To embellish this remarkable feature, emerging South African street artist Jack Fox applied his signature artwork to the walls surrounding the bowl. The celebrated artist worked without an overall design and completed the improvised work of art in a twelve-hour, non-stop operation.
The bar area is equipped with an elegant Smeg black refrigerator and a slick surfboard bar, which is not only functional but also shows its most prized possession.
