Ferreira Arquitetos Renovate What Was Once in a Deplorable Condition and Turn it Into a Pleasant and Completely Welcoming Home

This remodeling of an existing dwelling located in Praia da Vagueira, in the municipality of Vagos, Aveiro, in Portugal, which was in a deplorable state, has been developed in a single level, surrounding a patio where all the divisions of the house converge.

The design has been created – on a plot measuring 200 square meters – by José Ferreira, part of the team at the architectural firm Ferreira Arquitetos in the year 2017. During its design process, the architects opted for a reduced use of materials, looking for simplicity and seeking to reduce construction costs; however, the result has been a wide open space, full of light and charm.

In the interior, we see beautiful wooden floors, but what is most striking is its sloping and high wooden ceilings – surely all eyes are directly drawn to it. The completely open space houses a modern white kitchen in a minimalist style that will delight guests and visitors alike.

Glass walls pierce the white walls, which have a double advantage – for one, these openings allow those standing in the interior to view and admire the exterior, uninterrupted. Additionally, natural light is thus allowed to seep into the interior and flow through the space, illuminating all nooks and corners.
