This house built on uneven ground was designed by the SO Architecture team – Shachar Lulav, Oded Rozenkier, and Alejandro Fajnerman – in 2016. It covers an area of 160 square meters and is surrounded by nature, at the peaceful municipality of Kiryat Tiv’on, in Israel.
One of the primary requirements of the clients was that the exterior form part, somehow, of the interior of the home. Which is why we find so many glass walls as we traverse through the house.
It was built with a spiral shape, and at its center is an internal garden, so that both air and natural light are free to travel and flow through the house through the glass walls that separate the different areas of the gardens, as much through the public areas as through the private rooms. In this manner, all spaces are kept full of light and fresh air.
The living room is open both to the patio on one end and to the grove on the other, inspiring a notion of life within and around nature.
A special effort has been made in order to preserve the existing mature trees on the lot. The planting is keeping the character of the endemic vegetation.
