This small cabin, measuring only 47 square meters, and which appears to hide between the mountains and the snow, is located in Scotland’s Cairngorms National Park and was designed by the architectural firm Moxon Architects.

Located in the grounds of the client’s highland estate, it provides a space for entertaining guests that takes full advantage of its scenic surroundings.

It was the client’s wish to create a space with the highest regard for the very special landscape, an intimate place for entertaining on their highland estate. With this in mind, a focus was placed on the long wood table fitted for hosting these social gatherings. The highland hut is finished completely in timber to allow minimal impact on the terrain.

Its exterior boasts a rugged rural design, and the tranquility that its location brings is enhanced by the solitude that surrounds it.

In its interior, this cabin has been completely clad in wood, from its floors, to its walls, to its ceiling, which provides the space with warmth and maintains that rugged feeling that begins in its interior. It is a clear reminder that we’re surrounded solely by nature, sheltered only by the surrounding mountains.

A large table sits at the center of its interior, the perfect setting for large gatherings with family and friends.
