Maison Plastique, Shelter Island Pavilion by Stamberg Aferiat Architecture

Peter Stamberg and Paul Aferiat of New-York city-based studio Stamberg Aferiat Architecture have designed Maison Plastique, a cubist 1,100 square foot colorful retreat for their own use.

The pavilion, located on the Shelter Island at the eastern end of Long Island, New York, is composed of two independent pavilions around a pool, one containing a master suite, the other a kitchen and the living area.

The 1,800 square foot two bedroom, two bathroom residence sits on a five acre rocky lot “overwhelming city skyscrapers and the scuttle of yellow cabs for sweeping views of the Catskill Mountains and hawks gliding over the thermals below.”

General Contracting firm Dawson and Clinton in collaboration with Studio 12 Architecture have designed and built this two innovative townhouses located in 3119-3121 Harrison Street in San Francisco, California.

Each light-filled home (2,500/2,645 sq ft) has its own private entrance, three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a studio, a 600 square-foot roof deck with sweeping city views, titanium concrete floors with sound insulation and radiant heating.

Described as “the finest property of its kind in Cape Town,” the Mwanzoleo vacation home is staffed and can be booked all year round from $3,500 to $18,500 per day, depending on the season, with a minimum stay of 5 days.

Impressive Green Roofed Residence on the Japanese Coast by Ciel Rouge

Franco-Japanese architectural firm Ciel Rouge has completed the Villa Ronde project, a green roofed luxury residence nestled on the Japanese coast.

The open-air circular design of the house helps protect it by deflecting the strong winds that are common in the area while providing natural ventilation and serves to cool the interior.

The Villa Ronde includes a private museum, a guest house and an indoor swimming pool.
