Maison Leguay Near Paris by Moussafir Architectes Associés

Paris-based studio Moussafir Architectes Associés has recently completed the transformation of a classic brick-and-stone suburban house into a spacious 2,497 square-foot contemporary residence.

The Maison Leguay is located on a narrow corner lot in Bois-Colombes, a commune in the northern suburbs of Paris, 9 km (5 1/2 miles) from the center of Paris.

Villa Geldrop by Hofman Dujardin

Amsterdam-based Studio Hofman Dujardin has recently completed the Villa Geldrop project in The Netherlands.

The villa is located at the end of a large lot, next to an existing barn.

Designed for a businessman and his family, the 4,467 square foot residence has all its bedrooms and bathrooms sheltered below ground.

YSY House in Seto by AUAU

Nagoya-based studio AUAU has completed the YSY House project in 2010.

The 1,960 square foot residence was designed for a family of four.

The two story house is located on a small hill in Seto, Japan, and features an asymmetrical form that complements the physical conditions of the site.

The 3,089 square foot house, with it’s elevated living accommodation, allows “the fluidity of the surrounding landscape remain uninterrupted, whilst also giving the occupant a raised vantage point from which to engage with nature.”

Church Conversion in Adelaide

Established in the 1850s in honor of Reverend James Bickford, this small church located in Adelaide, Australia, was converted and renovated in 2011.

The contemporary residence has an open style living room with 16-foot ceiling, three spacious bedrooms, a theater room with cafe doors leading out to a very private decking area.

Located in a dense urban area and confined on two sides by blank party walls the house must gain all its light and air from the street while maintaining privacy and security.

Designed to accommodate an extended family, the house has an unusual exterior with its bamboo screen.

The Wrap House in Aspen by Studio B

Aspen-based architectural firm Studio B Architects has sent us some photos of the Wrap project.

Situated in the East End of Aspen, Colorado, this small property is part of a historic lot split and was required to ‘respond’ to its immediate Swiss-Style neighbor in its massing, proportions and materials.

The house is three levels with a floating stair linking them and also serves as a light shaft to the lower level with its open detailing and light.
