The FLOAT House by Make it Right and Morphosis Architects

This contemporary home was created in 2009 by the Make it Right program and Morphosis Architects in response to the devastation of Hurricane Katrina.

The aim of the project was to meet the needs of families located in the Lower Ninth Ward in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA.

Such families require affordable, resilient housing with sustainable utilities.

Urban Art: Before I Die… In Nola by Candy Chang

Candy Chang is a public installation artist, designer, urban planner, and co-founder of Civic Center who likes to make cities more comfortable for people.

The artist turned the side of an abandoned house in her neighborhood into “a giant chalkboard where residents can fill in the blank and remember what is important to them in life.”
