By • Apr 13, 2011 •  Selected Work

The Inside Out House is a 637 square-foot two story home located in Katsushika, one of the special wards of Tokyo, Japan.

Designed by Takeshi Hosaka Architects for a couple and two cats, “the project started based on the idea that humans and cats live in a same house, rather than cats living in a house designed for humans — and finally this idea brought out a concept: “a house inside which you feel being outside.”

Tiny Mini House by LineBox Studio

By • Feb 12, 2011

Mini House sits on a small and narrow lot on Craven Road, in the ‘Tiny Town’ neighborhood of Toronto, Canada.

Designed by Canadian architect firm LineBox Studio, this small detached home (566 sq ft!) was built in 2009.

The client’s vision was a compact, industrial Loft like structure to fit on the existing lot.

Transforming the clients vision of a loft style environment into a compact fully detached home was accomplished by LineBox Studio through the use of 17ft ceilings, exposed plumbing and electrical elements, thoughtfully placed windows.
