Casa CL, as this project is named, was designed by the architectural firm 2d4, which has offices in both London, England and Naples, Italy. The project in question is located in Earl’s Court, a district of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea in central London.
The owners do not live permanently in the UK, but still wished to own a place in London that they could call home, and so they decided to purchase and remodel this home in the prestigious Coleherne Court, which was built at the beginning of the 20th century.
For the remodeling, the owners wished the architectural studio to work more on the atmosphere of the apartment rather than its layout, and so the focus became meeting their needs and heighten the apartment’s levels of coziness and comfort. As a result, the interior is spacious and luminous, done in pale shades of beige in order to add to its sense of space and brightness.
The floors, which were originally carpeted, were replaced by oak, emphasizing its contemporary style, while at the same time remaining warm and versatile. The corridor showcases some of the work of one of the owners, who’s a talented amateur travel photographer, in so adding a strong sense of home to the space. The bathrooms were entirely refurbished, and the en-suite one hosts walls and floors covered in Carrara marble tiles.
