This house was designed with a young couple in mind, a young couple with a busy daily schedule and for whom the following was essential: a house that was efficient, close to the school where their two small children attend, as well as close to their respective places of work.
One of their wishes was to have a modern and spacious kitchen that included a dining area and, as we can see in the images, their wishes were fulfilled verbatim by the architectural firm in charge of doing the work, Lautenbag Architecture. Now, this couple has a spacious and modern minimalist black and white kitchen that shares a space with a wooden dining room.
The beautiful and modern building, covering an area of 150 square meters, was built in 2016 and is located on the shore of a lake in Heerenveen, The Netherlands. It has glass walls which allow the natural light of the exterior to be fully taken advantage of.
The stunning facade with contrasting finishes, which include folded perforated metal panels, make a bold statement within this residential area.
The open plan feel is continued throughout the building with strategically placed dividing walls to give privacy while allowing the interconnection of rooms to flow. The stairs are a key and striking feature of the property, while being functional yet minimalist. This home offers a spacious living space which is both functional and contemporary and maximizes the assets of its location.
