This 4,650 square foot single family home in the hills of Oakland, California, overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge and all of San Francisco, was designed by Onion Flats to merge comfortably into it’s difficult and steeply sloped site while providing a tranquil setting for a couple and their two children.
This house has an array of sustainable features: it incorporates a planted green roof garden, photovoltaic panel system which generate all necessary electricity for the home, and solar thermal panels which provides pre-heated hot water to the house.
The Margarido House was one of the first LEED-H Gold single-family homes in the State of California.

The Inside Out House is a 637 square-foot two story home located in Katsushika, one of the special wards of Tokyo, Japan.
Designed by Takeshi Hosaka Architects for a couple and two cats, “the project started based on the idea that humans and cats live in a same house, rather than cats living in a house designed for humans — and finally this idea brought out a concept: “a house inside which you feel being outside.”

This masterwork residence was built from soaring raw space within the former gymnasium of the original 1905 Beaux Arts Police Headquarters Building in Soho, New York City.
It represents the vision and genius of the world renowned and acclaimed architect, the famed Charles Gwathmey.
This is the only apartment Gwathmey ever designed from the ground up, and required over four years to complete.

Wanderlust is a left-field and totally experimental boutique hotel set to draw madcap voyagers and curious travelers to its doorstep.
The hotel is located in Little India, Singapore – a bustling cultural enclave where Indian immigrants once settled, and the building was originally an old school built it 1920s.
With four thematic levels of 29 rooms by award winning Singapore design agencies, each group was given full creative freedom.

Architectural firm Khosla Associates has designed the Vastu House, a 13,000 square-foot residence located in Bangalore, India.
This house is strictly Vastu compliant: the placement of spaces in the house are in sync with the plan of the Vastu Purusha Mandala (the ancient Indian science of orientation and placement).

Located in a small village at the outskirts of Warsaw, Poland, the Safe house was designed by architectural firm KWK Promes with the aim to provide its residents a feeling of maximum security.
Completed in 2009, the two story concrete monolith residence offers approximately 6,100 square feet of spacious living areas, floor to ceiling windows, panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, and a beautiful indoor swimming pool.

The Russian Hill Residence was designed by John Maniscalco Architecture and is located in San Francisco’s Russian Hill neighborhood.
This 5,800 square foot LEED Platinum home features three bedrooms, 5 full baths, three gas fireplace, two gas fire pits, one on the roof deck and one in the garden and an elevator to all floors.
According to Sotheby’s, it’s “central, open-plan living area adapts easily to casual evenings or formal entertaining.

This amazing video ad for Sharp cellphone Touch Wood SH-08C features a wooden ball rolling down a homemade xylophone in the midst of Kyushu, Japan’s woodlands.
Kenjiro Matsuo at Invisible Designs Lab made the instrument.
