Designed by the architectural firm ARCO under the command of its architects Paulo Lima and Chiara Bettelli. This unique house with concrete walls and ceilings is located on the northern side of S. Miguel Island, Rabo de Peixe, Azores, Portugal in a spot that has an open view over the surrounding fields and woods. It has a surface area of 76 square meters and was carried out in 2015.

It’s important for the customer to be greeted by an open and harmonious space, made all the subtler thanks to its minimalist style.

That is why a concrete box was designed that was only separated from the outside by the sliding glass doors, thus allowing it to connect the exterior to the interior.

In a plot surrounded by high stone walls, the building is located next to the western end, isolated from the street.

Inside the home, we’ll find the sleeping area and the living room, separated by a block that also serves as space for storage, kitchen, and the restroom: a box inside the box.

The living room and bedroom have an extension on the outside under the roof slab.
