Casa na Praia Grande is a private residence designed by Ribero de Carvalho Arquitectos, based in Colares, in the municipality of Sintra, in Portugal. The home itself is located in Praia Grande, which is also located in the municipality of Sintra, in Portugal, and was designed in 2011, covering a total ground area of 676 square meters.
The home boasts stunning views over the Atlantic Ocean, and so it is equipped with many terraces from which to easily enjoy them. The architectural landscaping program that surrounds it is simplistic and elegant, permitting us to enjoy the open surroundings with ease. Stacked gardens flank the home, with overflowing bush plants and flowers granting the entire image dots of color.
The home’s external façade is mainly composed of concrete, glass, rough mosaic-like stone, and white. These elements all come together to create a structure that feels fresh and earthy, as if it itself were also part of the landscape.
The interior uses a similar color palette – brown wood, white walls, a handful of shades of gray – to create a minimalist interior that, with the added effect of the plentiful natural light that seeps in through the glass walls, feels fresh and light.
