Have you always dreamed of owning a home that’s quite on the minimalist side, but doesn’t quite cross the line into the world of industrial decor? That’s a gorgeous aesthetic, but it’s also quite particular because there’s a fine line between the two when it comes to furnishing, fabrics, materials, and accessories. Adding a few pieces in more traditional textiles but including modern shapes or choosing one nearly-industrial feature and keeping the colour scheme light can help you strike a balance between the two. A transformative design project called Interior Renovation of a House in Mas Nou is the perfect example of how architechts and interior designers can work together to hit the mark!
Completed in late 2015, Interior Renovation of a House in Mas Noi was conceptualized and brought to life by innovative design firm 05 AM Arquitectura. Its location in central Platja d’Aro in Cataluña, Spain
surrounds the home by the perfect climate for really taking advantage of the big windows. The open concept and layout let rays of light travel throughout the whole house.
To keep things smoothly minimalist, modern, and just shy of industrial, designers gave the home a floor made of beautifully smoothed concrete in a stunning deep grey. They contrasted that with a neutral, airy cream coloured scheme covering both the walls and ceiling for a calming monochromatic aesthetic.
Beyond that, the decor and furnishings are the perfect blend of minimalist and decorative. Wooden accents bring a natural element into the rooms while modern shapes keep things look contemporary. The pendant lights in the family room are the perfect example of what we mean! That same concept follows you through into the bedrooms.
Once they’d established a cohesive decor scheme, even these designers couldn’t resist throwing in a bit of wall art to add a pop of colour. Without disturbing the delicate balance between minimalism and industrial chic, you’ll find simple, eye catching wall decor that adds a little bit of perfect personality.
