House with Beautiful Views Over the Mountains in Bombay Designed by SPASM Design Architects
By Magaly • Jun 5, 2017
This project consists of two houses built over the same plot of terrain, of 1,142 meters squared, as requested by the client in order to house families from Bombay and strip them away from the noise and bustle of the city proper. It’s located in Alibag, Maharashtra, in India, which is a region that receives a large quantity of rain between June and September, and is characterized by its humidity and heat throughout the rest of the year.
It has beautiful views of the mountains surrounding it and is bordered by dense vegetation, which gives it some privacy.
SPASM Design Architects was in charge of the designing aspect for this project, which began in 2016, and its desire was to make sure its inhabitants enjoyed the sun, the breeze, the fresh smell of grass and earth wet from rainwater, and the rays of sunlight spanning the blue sky.
The exterior areas of the project have a large pool where the families can enjoy and relax during the hottest days of the year.
In its construction, we can see the extensive use of red brick, which makes the verdant green of the meticulously managed gardens stand out.
Its glass walls allow the light to enter and bathe the interior of the project with natural light. Its spacious interiors are decorated largely with wooden furniture in such a way that it’s merely an extension of the natural environment that surrounds it.
